Who Is Oracle's $30 Billion Mystery Customer?

When Oracle revealed the signing of a $30 billion deal with a single unnamed cloud customer late last week, speculation proliferated about who that customer might be.

Before we get to that, let’s break down what we know, starting with Oracle’s SEC filing, which stated the following:

“Safra Catz, Chief Executive Officer of Oracle Corporation (‘Oracle’) plans to meet with other Oracle colleagues later today. She will say, ’Oracle is off to a strong start in FY26. Our MultiCloud database revenue continues to grow at over 100%, and we signed multiple large cloud services agreements including one that is expected to contribute more than $30 billion in annual revenue starting in FY28.’”

Hints About Oracle Infrastructure

Since Oracle’s fiscal 2026 just began on June 1, we can assume that its fiscal 2028 begins on calendar June 1, 2026. That means whoever signed for $30 billion annually needs to have substantial infrastructure ready to run AI modeling by that date.

More on that momentarily. First, we need to clarify what Oracle means by infrastructure. It isn’t the physical building of datacenters but leasing those buildouts and populating them with resources such as GPUs for resale to hyperscalers, along with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
